Maillists and Chat
Currently two maillists are used for A-A-P. See below.

The recommended chat room for A-A-P is: irc://irc.freenode.net/#aap.

 Developer maillist
The A-A-P-develop list is for communication between A-A-P developers.
   - Discussions about how A-A-P works

   - Suggestions and plans for improvements

   - Mentioning bugs, fixes and problems

   - Announcements for new versions

There is also an e-mail based interface. Get info about it by sending a
message with just the word "help" as subject or in the body to:

     a-a-p-develop-request@lists.sourceforge.net

The old maillist archive at Yahoo (up to October 2002) can still be found
here.
 User maillist
The A-A-P-user list is for communication between A-A-P users.
   - Questions and answers about how to do something with A-A-P

   - Tips for using A-A-P

   - Suggestions for related tools

   - Announcements for new versions

There is also an e-mail based interface. Get info about it by sending a
message with just the word "help" as subject or in the body to:

     a-a-p-user-request@lists.sourceforge.net

 Sending a message
Before sending a message to the maillist you must subscribe first.
Otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the responses.
And this avoids spamming.
Send the message to a-a-p-user@lists.sourceforge.net or
a-a-p-develop@lists.sourceforge.net.
A few things to keep in mind:

   - Please do not send HTML messages to the lists.

   - Keep it short, don't annoy subscribers with irrelevant stuff.

   - When responsing to a message, only quote relevant parts, delete the
   rest

   - Small patches and files can be included (up to about 50 Kbyte).
Make larger files available for downloading and put the URL in the
   message.

   - Do not send a message to both the developer and user list, unless you
are very sure everybody must see it (e.g., an important announcement).

   - Send a message directly to a group of persons when you know they are
the only ones who want to read it.
